Assignment 1- introduction

Hello every one my name is Jacob Barnard. I was born in Little Rock Arkansas but grew up in Virginia. I have loved film for as long as I can remember. I actually co own a film company with my brother (who has a broadcast and film production degree). We have been in business for two years now, and have done several professional jobs. Over Christmas break I finished editing a safety video we made for Lhoist North America. They are a German company that operates about 60 mines across the USA. We have done a few videos with them and have more lined up this next year. I also was a part of a year long teaching video series that released this time last year call the IWitness series. It was a teaching series on how to help Christians be more effective at reaching out to people around them. That was a 7 video series and was shot in 4 different states. I love the production side of film! Cinematography is my favorite and I most shot with a cannon 5d mark II. I want to get a film studies degree so I can learn how to do what I'm all ready doing better. Also having a degree will help the legitimacy of my work. I hope that in 10 years I will be doing what I'm doing now with my company, but on a much larger scale. I would love to be making commercials and doing some documentaries over seas. Something not film related I am a Christian. I have been to Africa 8 times and spent over 6 months there last year. I am engaged and my fiancé is actually from Capetown South Africa.
